Social Media Activism: Fighting the Good Fight Online

  • Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture 53 Prospect Park West Brooklyn, NY, 11215 United States (map)

So we all know how to use Instagram to find our favorite new restaurant, and how to find good memes on Twitter. But what does it mean to be an activist on social media?

If you have a cause you care about and a social platform with more than 5 followers, you can make a difference. And we can teach you how!  (Yes, social media activism is real—and it works. Just watch AOC’s insta stories if you don’t believe us). Come to our free, ladies-only, Broad Room training on social media activism to learn best practices, worst practices, how to raise money, how to raise awareness, and how to get your followers to take action on the issues you care about! Then, we’ll put our new skills into action to support badass Queens DA candidate, Tiffany Caban. Plus, free wine.

About Our Trainers: Come hang out with Emily Cody & Nieve Mooney - the broads who run The Broad Room social platforms! Aside from that, their experiences range from using social media as a tool to help end gun violence to crafting global digital strategies for brands and orgs.

We promise you’ll leave feeling like the things you say online matter—because they do.

*RSVP!* Spaces are limited!
