Broad to Watch in Activism

  • Tara Rose 384 3rd Avenue New York, NY, 10016 United States (map)

This year, in addition to our monthly trainings, The Broad Room will host the Broads to Watch Series - three happy hour networking events for our members. At each, we’ll highlight broads working as activists and advocates for progressive change, who embody the mission and values of The Broad Room. Members will have an opportunity to learn more about the work these women do while mixing and mingling with fellow members.

Join us for our second installment on Thursday, August 22, where we will be in conversation with Audacia Ray.

Audacia Ray is a New York-based activist who serves her LGBTQ+ community as the Director of Community Organizing and Public Advocacy at the NYC Anti-Violence Project (AVP), where she is a founding member of the Decrim NY Coalition and a co-anchor of the Hate Violence Prevention Initiative. Previously, she was the founding executive director of the Red Umbrella Project. At AVP this past year she has worked on city and state campaigns for bail reform, hate violence prevention, and the decriminalization of sex work. Through these endeavors, she dedicates her lifework to fighting for LGBTQ survivors of violence.
